Pan-Atlantic University will be hosting Omolara Yeku, Head of HR, Food Division at Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc at its annual career fair, taking place virtually on February 17, 2021. She will be speaking on the theme of the event “Leadership and Millennials: Adapting to New Work Realities”.
Omolara Yeku is a global HR leader, HR strategist, career coach, speaker, and author who is well recognized for her immense contributions to the current trends and practices in the evolution of Human Resources Management in Nigeria. Frequently consulted for her expertise in Design Thinking and her distinctive HR capabilities that enable organizational growth through business-driven HR transformation, Lara currently sits as the Head of HR, Food Division, at Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc. In this capacity, she is responsible for providing strategic HR leadership to position the conglomerate as the leading food and agro-allied group in Africa.
A recognized and highly-respected HR thought leader, she is sought after as a trainer and a speaker in different fora, on human potential development and she has won several awards in this category, some of which include: 2020 Talent Management Strategist, 150 Global Women B2B Thought Leadership to follow in 2020 & 2021 and 2nd LinkedIn top 10 women thought leaders to follow in 2020. An accomplished HR Field Specialist from Cornell University, USA, Lara is a Certified Talent Acquisition Strategist from the Human Capital Institute (HCI), an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM), and a Graduate Member of Nigeria Institute of Training and Development (NITAD).
She has over 16 years + experience across various sectors; started her career at Human Capital Development Consultants Limited (one of Nigeria’s fastest-growing HR Consulting firms) and later joined DHL Excel Logistics as a Human Resources Officer.
In 2008, Lara joined the HR team at Accenture and rose to the position of Country HR Lead for Accenture in Nigeria where she honed her HR capabilities and provided strategic direction for the global brand until 2019. Fondly known as ‘Coach Lara’ by her protégés, she is a Certified Professional Coach, a member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF), USA, and the founder of HR GEMs Coach Network (Human Resources Great, Excellent Minds Coach Network) – a platform that offers a haven for HR professionals to learn, thrive, share and build life transformational skills. Since the inception of the network, several members of the group have recorded landmark strides in their careers as coaches and HR Professionals.
Driven by an intense desire to contribute her quota to the development of Africa’s human capital, Lara is deeply committed to empowering young professionals to succeed by helping them discover, refine and unleash their talents through creative work outlets that result in profitable employment for them.
In keeping with her vision to equip young people to succeed, she recently authored the first-ever, innovative, visionary, mentoring-through-storytelling concept book: My HR Storybook for HR Professionals. She sits on the advisory board of two NGOs and is the Lead Sponsor at Enipro Academy Women in Data Analytics.
